Literacy is such an important step toward success. As former Secretary-General of the United Nations Kofi Annan said, “Literacy is…the road to human progress and the means through which every man, woman,and child can realize his or her full potential.”

Joining the board of Team First Book Indy in 2014 was an easy decision for me since reading and children are my two passions. I was lucky to be introduced to Brackets For Good through my association with Team First Book Indy and excited to lead the digital publicity effort to help my cause raise money from local donors. In the 2014 Brackets For Good tournament, Team First Book Indy raised $3,831 but did not pass the first round; however, in 2015, with me leading the communications team, we raised $8,484 and made it to the third round of the competition.
